You can absolutely air fry homemade salt and pepper squid however due to the oil content in store-bought frozen squid the time required is different and oil may need to be added to the air fryer basket.

Storage

Once frozen salt and pepper squid have been cooked in the air fryer I recommend consuming them immediately as after a day in the fridge they can go a little soggy.

Frozen squid certainly can not be refrozen after cooking.

  • Dipping Sauce (Optional)

Instructions

Cooking frozen Salt and Pepper squid in the air fryer is super easy. All you have to do is place the required amount of frozen Salt and Pepper squid into the air fryer basket.

Don’t be tempted to oil the basket when cooking frozen Salt and Pepper squid. I find store-bought squid already have enough oil on them so you will find that they become extra greasy and lose crispiness if you put additional oil in.

Pop into the air fryer at 400°F (204°C) for 8 minutes.

Shake the basket at the 4 minute mark for more even cooking.

Continue cooking for 4 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.

Instructions

  1. Add salt and pepper squid to air fryer basket making sure basket isn't overcrowded.
  2. Put in at 400F (200C) for 8 minutes.
  3. Shake basket at 4 minute mark.
  4. Serve

Do not crowd basket.
