In our opinion, although all these methods yield good results our favorite way to cook them is in the air fryer. Air fryer frozen samosas don’t hold the grease like deep frying samosas and in my opinion have a better crisp than when cooked in the oven.

What is the best brand of frozen samosa to air fry?

When it comes to brand of frozen samosa, we actually haven’t found a brand that doesn’t air fry well. Trader Joes, Costco, and Wholefoods usually stock them in the US with some of the big brand names being Deep, Haldirams, and Sukhis.

While in the UK you can find them in pretty much every freezer or deli section.

Does this work for air frying frozen homemade samosas?

You can absolutely air fry homemade samosas however due to the precooking process and the oil content in store-bought frozen samosas the time required is different and oil will need to be added to the air fryer basket.

Samosas are a very popular appetizer and therefore one of the most important things to serve with samosas is a delicious dipping sauce.

Our favorite dipping sauces to serve with samosas are:

  • Mint Raita
  • Mango Chutney and
  • Tamarind Sauce

are all-natural sauces to serve with vegetable samosas.

And if you want to make an appetizer platter that features vegetable samosas we also recommend serving Onion Bhajis, and vegetable pakoras as well other Asian dishes such as Egg Rolls and Potstickers.

Storage

Once vegetable samosas have been cooked in the air fryer I recommend consuming them immediately as after a day in the fridge they can go a little soggy. However, you could keep these for up to 2 days in the fridge should you wish.

Samosas certainly can not be refrozen after cooking.

What You’ll Need

  • Frozen Samosas (brand of your choosing).
  • An Air Fryer

Instructions

Cooking frozen samosas in the air fryer is super easy. All you have to do is place the required amount of frozen samosas into the air fryer basket. My air fryer basket can fit four of these larger sized samosas in it at a time.

Don’t be tempted to oil the basket when cooking frozen samosa. Store-bought egg rolls already have oil in them so you will find that they become extra greasy and lose crispiness if you put additional oil in.

Some people recommend brushing the top of your samosa with oil for additional browning. It won’t hurt to do this however I have not found the results to be all that different.

Pop into the air fryer at 380°F (193°C) for 8 to 10 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.
