These delicious breakfast cereal popsicles are a great frozen treat! They’re a fun and sweet way to enjoy fruity cereal and yogurt in popsicle form.
You can use any type of dry cereal you’d like – we used Fruity Pebbles because they’re so bright and colorful, but lots of types would work.
These popsicles are also based on the idea of the Milk Bar’s famous cereal milk, which has been a cult favorite in cakes, panna cotta, and ice cream. Christina Tosi created it while working at Momofuku – it’s essentially just cereal steeped and milk and sweetened with sugar.
If you’re a person who loves drinking leftover milk out of a bowl of cereal, then this is the recipe for you!
Ingredients
You’ll only need a handful of ingredients to make this delicious treat.
- Dry Cereal (preferably something sweet like Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops, etc)
- Milk
- Yogurt (either Greek Yogurt or Vanilla Yogurt)
See the recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Pour half the cereal and all the milk into a bowl. Allow the cereal to sit in the milk and flavor it for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Strain the milk and cereal through a fine mesh strainer. Save the milk and discard the wet cereal.
Mix the cereal milk and Greek yogurt in a bowl.
Pour in the remaining cereal (reserving a tablespoon or two for the base of the popsicles).
Pour the mixture into 6 popsicle molds.
Sprinkle the reserved cereal at the base of the popsicles.
Place the popsicle sticks in.
Place the popsicle molds in the freezer for at least 4 hours (and potentially up to 8 hours, depending on the temperature of your freezer) to freeze.
