Our healty boonanas are a great alternative to giving out candy and sugar filled treats at Halloween parties and for trick and treaters.
We love Halloween in our house, but if I am honest I don’t love the candy filled sugar high that comes with trick or treating and Halloween parties. These frozen yogurt covered bananas are a great alternative that the whole family will love. And with just three ingredients they are also quick and easy to make.
Even my three years loves to get involved in the making!
Ingredients
You’ll only need a handful of ingredients to make this delicious treat.
- Natural Yogurt
- Honey
- Bananas
- Raisins
Instructions
Cover a baking tray with grease proof paper and set aside.
Peel the bananas and cut through the centre and half lengthways.
Put the bananas onto a stick so they resemble a lollipop.
Dip each banana into the yogurt and honey mixture and place on the grease proof paper lined baking tray.
Add 2 raisins to the bananas to resemble eyes.
Repeat for each banana.
Put in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Remove 10 minutes before you want to serve.
Substitutions and Variations
- Vanilla Yogurt – we use natural yogurt sweetened with honey for the healthiest option. However if you want something sweeter why not try vanilla flavoured yogurt
- White Chocolate – if you aren’t worried about sugar you could always dip your bananas into melted white chocolate instead
- Chocolate – again we wanted to make our boonanas as healthy as possible so used raisins for eyes. However you could also use chocolate chips or sweet eyes instead.
